The importance of motivation for students

Motivation can overcome fear, laziness, and defeat. For example in a football game, two teams that competed always strive to play according to strategy, an attempt to defeat the opponent. In a balanced position, they try to outperform his opponent as soon as possible. When it is superior, they will maintain it and try to increase the advantage. When left behind, they are trying to equalize and even reverse the situation. All can occur when all the players are motivated to do just that.

A strong push from within will bring up the energy to continue trying to achieve the desired success. At the time of study or do chores, there are times when we are serious, there is also time that we are lazy. That's all influenced by motivation from within ourselves. Motivation gives impetus within us to do something. Despite the success of students determined by the strategies of learning and basic skills that are owned, motivation remains a trigger energy to excel.

Intelligence or intellectual abilities and talents are important factors to achieve a feat. However, neither of them would be beneficial if a person does not have sufficient motivation. Although the results of intelligence tests showed a high figure, if someone does not want to take advantage of this, then all the excess it becomes meaningless. But conversely, if someone only has an IQ of mediocre, but he is highly motivated to excel, it is not impossible that he will get high performance.

At school, motivation becomes a very important basis for the successful achievement of educational goals and effectiveness of learning activities. Students' motivation to learn to make them have a strong desire to follow and appreciate all the activities associated with the learning process.
